How to Play Double Bubble Slot Demo?

With a simple 5 x 3 game grid and 20 paylines, Double Bubble appears similar to other basic slots on first look. But, it’s not. The additional Bubble Line at the front adds another dimension that can put some extra bounce in your step! Before I go into the game features, let’s take a look at how to play the game first.

Step-by-Step Gameplay

• Search for Double Bubble in the games library of your online casino. (See below for which casinos have the game)
• Select your bet level ranging between £0.20 and £5.00. You do this by adjusting the coin size using the + and – buttons. Check the bottom of the screen for your bet amount. You can amend the paylines instead, but I highly recommend you keep this at 20 for max payouts. 
• Hit the spin button and wait to see where the symbols land.
• Winning combinations on the main reels are formed when at least 2 matching symbols land on a payline from the left reel onwards. For lower paying symbols you will need three matching symbols.
• You will notice that some of the symbols have a blue bubble around them. The game duplicates those symbols in the Bubble Line at the front of the screen to form their own line.  
• If you hit the Bubble Pop Bonus, then the bonus screen will appear.
• When the round ends, the game adds any wins to your account balance.
• Start spinning again!

Visuals and Symbols

This is one of the highlights of the game for me. Double Bubble has a distinctive logo and theme making it really stand out in the games library. The logo has a slanted bubble font with soap bubbles around it. It looks almost like bubble gum or bubble bath packaging. When you open the game, the visuals are bright and, yes you’ve guessed it, bubbly!

The Double Bubble slot is meant to be fun. The game grid is shaped like a retro radio surrounded by bubbles, the visuals pop off the screen and the soundtrack matches its cute theming. 

The game uses traditional fruit icons but draws them in a distinctive style. Low paying symbols include cherries, grapes, watermelon, orange and a plum. Medium paying symbols are a pink, blue and green soap bar and a bell. The highest paying symbol is the Double Bubble Wild, which is where you can hit that 20,000 max win, followed by a Super 7 symbol. Here’s a look at the highest paying symbols and pay table:

Bonus Features

There are only two bonus features in the Double Bubble slot, but they are lots of fun.

Bubble Line

At the bottom of the usual 5 x 3 game grid, an additional Bubble Line appears with five rounded spaces. When you first enter the game you will see the world ‘BONUS’ is written across the five spaces but this is just a holding screen in between spins. As soon as you spin the reels, various symbols within the main grid will have a blue bubble around them. The bubble can appear once on every reel but sometimes it only appears on one, two, three or four reels. Every spin is different.

The game duplicates the symbols with the blue bubble into the five Bubble Line spaces. This, in effect, creates a new payline for you to win on. But here’s the real twist. Make a winning combination in the Bubble Line and it gets multiplied by the number of paylines you’re playing in the game. So if you’re playing with 5 paylines on the main game, the Bubble Line win is multiplied by 5x, 10 paylines will be multiplied by 10 etc.

Remember earlier when I said you should always pay with 20 paylines? That’s because all Bubble Line pays are multiplied by 22x when you play with 20 paylines. This can result in some impressive payouts, even on small stakes. 

In total, the Bubble Line feature has three player benefits:

• It can create an additional line win on top of a regular line win on the main grid.
• It can create a line win even when there is no regular line win on the main grid.
• It duplicates all Bubble Line wins up to 22x. 

Here’s a couple of examples of this below:

In the image above, you have a winning combination on the main grid – the Bell symbol in the top left square followed by three Double Bubble Wild symbols returning a £10 win. However you also have a second winning combination on the Bubble Line with two Orange symbols and a Double Bubble Wild symbol. Although the Orange is a much lower paying symbol than the Bell and it’s only a winning line of 3 symbols (as opposed to 4 in the Bell combination) the Bubble Line pays more because of the 22x multiplier.

In the image above, there is no winning combination on the main grid. However, thanks to the Bubble Line, it has selected three watermelon symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 to create a winning combination on the Bubble Line. Ordinarily, three watermelons on a payline would result in just a 25p win on this bet, but thanks to the 22x multiplier, it has returned £5.50 instead.

Bubble Pop Bonus

Landing three Bonus symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5 triggers the Bubble Pop Bonus. I’d be lying if I said it was easy to get. In all the times I’ve played I’ve only got it once. But, hopefully you’re luckier than me!

When it triggers, you’ll be taken to the Bubble Pop Bonus screen, like the image below.

All you have to do is select one of the Bubbles to reveal a prize. In the example below, I picked the right bubble and it revealed a win of 400 coins. I’m not sure if this is a typical Bubble Pop win or if I chose badly, but I was a little disappointed with the pay out. 

Double Bubble RTP and volatility

The UK version of Double Bubble only seems to be available at 94% RTP which isn’t great news for players. This puts it below the online slots average of 96% and means that overall the payout percentage will be lower. Of course, the RTP metric is taken over millions of spins so it doesn’t necessarily reflect individual player experiences. Double Bubble has medium to high volatility, which is the ideal sweet spot for a lot of players. That means that although you won’t get frequent wins, you are able to get some regular wins and the payouts vary from medium to big. Personally, I found Bubble Line wins to come infrequently, but when they did, I was impressed by the multiplied payouts.

As a well-designed game with a simple layout, Double Bubble works really well on mobile. I tried playing it on my iPhone and found it to be just as good as on desktop. Clearly, the game designers have optimised it for both Android and iOS devices.
