Truthfully, I have a love-hate relationship with Huff N’ More Puff. I adore the theme, the features, the sounds and symbols and the potential for big wins. The bonus feature is completely unique with opportunities to upgrade symbols and win unlimited additional spins. Plus, the bonus reveal is highly original with the big bad wolf blowing the houses down to uncover your payout.
However, the high volatility of Huff N’ More Puff can be maddeningly frustrating. It really makes you work hard for those bonus features and it doesn’t always reward you well either. This is reflected in the lower than average RTP. It’s also why the game is suited to players who have the patience and bankroll to wait out long win-less spells.

Visuals and Symbols in Huff N’ More Puff
As the game is based on the story of the Three Little Pigs, it is located in the forest. The backdrop is of a lush landscape with fully grown trees, grass and bushes.
There is a fun country music-style soundtrack plodding along constantly while playing that makes you want to sing along. It really sticks in your head too!
The symbols themselves resemble that of a building site as our three pigs construct their houses. Low paying symbols include the usual royals, a tape measure and a tool box. Higher paying symbols are the three piggies and, of course, Mr Wolf who is wild. He appears on reels 2 – 4 substituting for all symbols except the Hard Hat and the Buzz Saw.
Just as the three pigs have different building styles, they also have different values too. We see the lowest value (straw-house) pig chilling against a log; the middle (stick-house) pig looking industrious with a hammer; and the highest value pig (brick-house) in his suit and tie.
The main symbols to look out for are the distinct bright yellow hard hats that land with a clunk sound. Plus, the silver and yellow circular buzz saws that drop with an accompanying metallic buzz. These are what you need to land the bonus features.
Huff N’ More Puff Bonus Features
There are several bonus features within Huff N’ More Puff but all of them revolve around the basic Hard Hat feature.
Hard Hat Feature
This is won by landing six yellow hard hats on one spin and it triggers six free spins.
The six positions of the original hard hats turn into straw houses. The aim of the feature is to build more houses and upgrade those already there. You do this by landing more hard hats.
Every hard hat that lands in an empty space becomes a straw house. Every hard hat that lands in an already occupied space will upgrade it, firstly to stick and then to brick.
If you land three hard hats on one spin, then it adds an additional spin and this can happen multiple times. When all of the spins are complete, the houses are built. In the image below, you can see that I have three straw houses, one stick house and six brick houses, otherwise known as mansions.
At this point the Big Bad Wolf emerges on the left hand side and he blows each of the houses down in order of value – straw first, then stick, then brick. Each house is replaced with a multiplier value to reveal your final payout. The mansions can also reveal a gold coin with one of the jackpot values at the top of the screen instead.
As you can see in the image below, two of the mansions revealed a jackpot amount, one of which had an additional multiplier. I also got two 25x multipliers giving me a total win of £28.90 on a 20p bet.
Wheel Feature
You trigger the wheel feature by landing three buzz-saw symbols:
This then reveals the feature wheel which can land on a jackpot amount or one of the following three features:
Mega-Hat Feature – The reels spin revealing different sized hard hats ranging from small hats covering four squares to large hats that cover all 15 squares. Whenever it stops, the squares underneath the hard hat turn into straw houses and the Hard Hat Feature begins.
Buzz-Saw Feature – How successful this feature is can largely depend on the positions of the original buzz saws. When the feature starts, each buzz saw travels from left to right on the screen turning all squares it passes into straw houses. If another buzz saw is behind it, it can then upgrade it to stick and then to brick if a third buzz saw is on the same line. Once the buzz saws have left, the Hard Hat Feature begins.
Mansion Feature – This is the fast-track feature that everyone wants. Every hard hat that lands automatically turns that square into a mansion. There’s no need to upgrade through the levels, it just goes straight to the highest paying house.
Huff N’ More Puff RTP and Volatility

Our Final Thoughts
Huff N’ More Puff is an exceptional slot game with engaging characters, fun symbols, fantastic sound effects and innovative bonus features. Plus, it can deliver huge wins too.
